Devotionals for Advent and Lent add significance to our spiritual preparation in those seasons. For Advent, I prepared a devotional from my own thoughts and experience, but the spiritual life of the church is much richer than that. We don't have a lot of time, but I would like to attempt to prepare a devotional from contributions from the congregation. If you want to help, you should: choose a scripture from Luke 4-23, Philippians, or Ephesians. Write a short meditation about the text. This may include why the text is meaningful to you, why you think it is important, some memory associated with the text, a poem about it, the text rewritten, (If you were in the prayer study, write a cinquain), or something that you want to write about the text. Be sure the piece you write is a couple of paragraphs. There may be room for a couple of photographs but not every photograph may be used. If you submit a photograph, please, submit written copy letting me know why the photo relates to one of the texts. Deadline is Sunday, February 17 at 5pm. It would be easier to have the material submitted digitally but I recognize that is not possible for everyone. Submit digitally to: ncchamberlain@yahoo.com or as hard copy my office.
